Overview

Monroe College is a proprietary institution that was founded in 1933. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Monroe College's ranking in the 2014 edition of Best Colleges is under Regional Universities. Monroe College is a for-profit college with campuses in the Bronx and New Rochelle in the U.S. state of New York and in the Caribbean nation of St. Lucia. The college is named after James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States. Monroe College residence halls are located in the heart of New Rochelle; a thriving suburban community in Westchester County Monroe College’s campuses offers the best of worlds: an idyllic, quiet, suburban campus in New Rochelle and a bustling, lively urban campus in the Bronx. New York City is home to some of the world's best cultural offerings and the media and business capital of America. Monroe plans and sponsors regular trips to take advantage of all that New York City has to offer to its students. St. Lucia campus in Barnard Hill Castries on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia combines the best of many worlds. Conveniently located between Margot and Rodney Bays and the Central Airport, St. Lucia campus students, faculty, and staff make regular use of their convenient access to some of the Caribbean’s most spectacular beaches.
