You can apply online to a university of your choice. Universities usually take up to seven weeks to process an application, before responding.

Intakes
It would be better if you start planning for your studies at least one year in advance. The major intake for Canada primarily is in September. The other intake is in January, but it depends on the students program and the institution that he/she is applying to.

English language requirements
You must be fluent in English if they are applying to Canadian Institutes. All students should take the IELTS or TOEFL(ibt) exams. An IELTS band of 6.0/6.5 for Undergraduate & 6.5/7 for Postgraduate courses or a TOEFL score of 80 and above for Undergraduate and 90 and above for Post Graduate courses is desirable.

(a) Requesting Application Forms via email: You can request application forms from the universities website. Most universities have a form on their website which can be completed online to request application material.
(b) Downloading from the university website: Many universities have a down loadable and ready to print versions of their application forms on the net. These can be used for applying just as regular forms.
(c) Requesting Applications from CEC in Delhi: You can get application forms for all the universities from Canadian Education Centre in New Delhi. You can either visit them personally or email them for the forms.

Following are the requirements to apply to various universities:
Secondary School Reports & Transcripts: Students who are applying for a Bachelor program or another undergraduate course would be required to submit a secondary school report and transcripts (report cards) of the final exams. The report should be filled out by a school official like the principal, counselor or headmaster. It should be related with student’s identity. This form should introduce you in the context of your whole school experience in relation to the other students in your class. Admission committees will be interested in learning how you have performed in your own educational system. The school report should talk about your accomplishments and provide a prediction of your chances for success in university-level studies.

Standardized Tests: International students are also required to take English Proficiency tests like TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing). Every university has its own minimum requirements and scores with respect to standardized tests. This has to be accompanied by a Letter of Recommendation and Statement of Purpose.

Unlike other countries, Canada boasts of 13 education systems, which it has developed over a course of time. Canadian provinces and territories have developed their own educational frameworks and institutions with similar basic structures. The recognized educational institutions are monitored by their by their provincial or territorial governments, who also authorize these institutes to grant academic credentials to the students.
The tuition fee in Canada varies from province to province, university to university and course to course. Canadian countries and provinces popular for their educational institutes include British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador and Prince Edward Island.
The tuition fees for international students or foreign students studying abroad in Canada are as follows:

Undergraduate Courses $ 7,000 - $ 15,000 approximately per year
Graduate Courses $ 6, 000 - $ 20, 000 approximately per year


Please note: In addition to tuition fees, Canadian universities generally charge fees for goods and services supplied to students such as student associations, sports and health. These additional fees vary widely per university and per student and can run from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. Students are advised to check with the respective university for details.
