Overview

The University of Amsterdam or UvA is a public-funded University established in 1632 by the municipal authorities and later named after the city of Amsterdam. It is the third-oldest University in the Netherlands. The UvA is characterized by a critical, progressive-thinking atmosphere and is strongly engaged with the society. Location & Facilities

It is located in both historic and modern buildings spread throughout the heart of the city. It forms an integral part of the intellectual and cultural life of Amsterdam. The main campus is located in central Amsterdam, with a few faculties located in adjacent boroughs.
